This page is dedicated to answering all your questions about the upcoming retirement of TSplus Remote Access version 12 (and older).
At TSplus, we understand that migrations and updates can be difficult. We are fully committed to making this process as stress-free as possible for everyone.
Please revisit this page as we proceed toward v12’s retirement date. The questions and answers will be updated regularly based on feedback from you.
Only users of TSplus Remote Access version 12 or below are affected by the change. To find out which version you are using, open the admin tool and check the license tab, or look at the title bar in the top left corner of the software. You should be able to see your exact version number in one or both of those places.
We are phasing out v12 and earlier to ensure our customers benefit from the latest cybersecurity protections, compatibility updates, and performance improvements. Continuing to support outdated versions limits our ability to provide the level of security and reliability our customers expect. By focusing on the latest versions, we can ensure stronger protection, seamless compatibility, and long-term stability.
Remote Access v12 (and all older versions) will stop functioning on all Windows computers. Service interruptions will begin in January 2026 and gradually extend until complete shutdown in April.
Starting in January 2026, TSplus will introduce progressively longer pauses in functionality for deprecated versions of Remote Access, timed just after Windows server updates. This gradual approach ensures that any users who missed prior end-of-life notices have multiple chances to update before the full shutdown on April 15, 2026, helping prevent unexpected disruptions.
Update to Remote Access v18 or LTS v16 or v17 as soon as possible. These versions are fully supported, secure, and built to run smoothly on current systems. Under certain circumstances, TSplus may be able to offer access to older but still supported versions of Remote Access. Contact our sales staff to talk about those options.
If your server runs without rebooting past April 2026, Remote Access may continue temporarily. However, the first restart will trigger the shutdown, which could cause unexpected disruption. For business continuity, we strongly recommend updating as early as possible.
Older Windows environments may face additional compatibility issues. TSplus strongly recommends updating your operating system alongside Remote Access for maximum stability and security.
TSplus has maintained support for over a decade of Remote Access versions, with some deployments going back to 2009. For example, v7 has been supported since 2014 – 11 years. We have supported v12 since 2019 - far longer than the industry standard. This demonstrates our unique commitment to customer stability and long-term continuity.
