What's the difference between buying or renting licenses?

Purchasing a licence: one-time purchase that grants you a perpetual license, ensuring lifetime access without expiration. It also includes one year of updates and support.

Renting a license: monthly or yearly subscription that provides access to all features, along with continuous updates and support. However, since you don’t own the license, access is only available while your subscription remains active.

Will permanent licenses be discontinued?

No. We remain fully committed to offering permanent licenses in the long term.


The subscription model is simply an additional option for customers who prefer a flexible, pay-as-you-go approach — not a replacement.

In what case should I choose a subscription?

A subscription is ideal if you prefer treating your software expenses as OPEX (Operating Expenditures) rather than CAPEX (Capital Expenditures) It allows you to spread costs over time instead of making a one-time investment.


This model is particularly well suited for cloud providers, MSPs, or SaaS companies who deliver remote access services to their own customers. For these use cases, buying permanent licenses upfront often doesn’t make sense, especially in dynamic or usage-based environments. A subscription offers flexibility, predictable budgeting, and scalability .

Does the price includes the Updates and Support services?

When renting licenses: Updates and support are included as long as your subscription remains active.

When purchasing licenses: the first year of Updates and Support is included. During checkout, you will have a chance to select 2 or 3 years instead.

In this case, the fee for these services is a percentage of the licence price:
- One year: 21% of license price
- Two years: 18% of license price per year
- Three years: 15% of license price per year

That’s why we recommend to select 3 years to maximize your savings on the long term.

What editions are included in the subscriptions?

All subscriptions are fully featured:

Remote Access: Enterprise Edition
Advanced Security: Ultimate Edition
Remote Support: All features
Server Monitoring: All features
2FA: All features

Are the licenses permanent?

When purchasing licenses: Yes, your TSplus Remote Access licenses are permanent and will never expire. You can use them without any time limitation.

When renting licenses: No, rented licenses are not permanent. Since you don’t own the licenses, access is only available while your subscription remains active.

Can I assign users from my TSplus Remote Access subscription to different servers?

Yes, from the subscription page of the licence portal You can freely assign users from your TSplus Remote Access subscription to several servers.

Can I mix subscriptions and permanent licences on the same server?

Yes, for all TSplus products, you can mix subscriptions and permanent licences.

For example, you can have on the same server a TSplus Remote Access subscription and a TSplus Advanced Security permanent licence. Or the opposite.

You can also have only subscriptions, or only permanent licences, the choice is yours.
